About Us

Share with Orphans is a non-profit organization having its offices located in Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo. SWOG is proudly serving Orphans, single parent, and vulnerable children to meet their versatile needs such as healthy food, proper education, clothing, medical assistance, as well as a safe and supportive housing.

Our goal is to serve orphans and vulnerable children in a sustainable and intensive manner to transform their lives. We believe that without addressing social, medical, and economic problems, these children would most likely be forced to drop out from school, fall back into the cycle of poverty and starve to death.

Not only do these children have to bear their parents’ losses, but also have to tackle extreme poverty, homelessness, terrific mental and physical health issues. All this makes gaining an education, having healthy meals and having a comfortable childhood impossible for them. This poverty limits their access to education, proper shelter, clothing, and food and in some cases forces them to become extremely vulnerable.

Share With Orphans is on a mission to reach out to thousands of orphans and single parent children to offer them a school uniform, a healthy meal, care, safety, accommodation, and support while entirely rehabilitating them from the grief of losing their parents. SWOG advocate and protect the rights of orphans by providing emotional, physical, and psychological support to them and their family members who are available and present.

SWOG provides a safe, healthy, and supportive accomodation for children, where they are equipped with all the resources they need to develop and flourish, and to be able to realize their hopes and dreams. We partner with orphanages in Africa and provide resources and education in child development and growth. We remotely educate and empower youth and single moms by providing ideas that enable them to bring pragmatic and sustainable changes in their lives. We at SWOG, are all focused on creating a world free from child poverty, homelessness, child abuse, and children rights violation.

Our Co-Founder’s Biography

Sandra Mbayo was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Tanzania, East Africa. She was separated from her parents when she was six years old because of the war crisis and spent a portion of her childhood in the care of Missionaries and Members of the United Methodist church.

At one point, she lived with her uncle, his wife and 2 children, but her uncle’s wife was abusive and forbid her to attend school, declaring that if she wanted to go to school, she would have to start selling beignets (African Donuts).

Although Sandra began selling beignets, her uncle’s wife still did not let her use the money to pay for school. Instead, her uncle’s wife collected the money and used it for her own expenses.

She then told Sandra that she couldn’t go to school until she finished completing household chores. Sandra cleaned the house every day, cooked for all members of the family, and cleaned the entire house. At the age of 8, Sandra found a way to return to Tanzania for a better life. When she moved to the United States of America on June 3, 2010, Sandra’s dream was to go to school and help other children professionally. She attended Denver South High School, and after her graduation, she continued her education at the Community College of Denver and then transferred to a 4-year university.

Sandra majored in Psychology with a double minor in Sociology and Anthropology. During her college education, she received ‘full ride’ scholarships that included the ‘Denver Foundation Scholarship,’ the ‘Helen M. McLoraine Foster Care and Emancipating Youth Scholarship,’ and Federal grants. She found that during the holidays, she was often haunted by memories of the time when she was unable to celebrate like other children with gifts and delicious meals. “I remember the first time I opened a Christmas gift was at the Methodist Church in Tanzania. The gift came from one of the United Methodist missionaries named Bob. Another gift was from my godparents at the United Methodist Church. I was super excited! I never forgot how excited I was on that day.”

Sandra’s childhood experiences became her motivation to start a non-profit foundation that would provide life-changing opportunities to orphaned children worldwide. She now uses her testimony to encourage all the children who hope to heal from trauma, violence, or abuse. “If you are currently in a place waiting for God’s miracle, just remember that God is working on your place on His waiting list, and God’s timing is always perfect.”
